The partners of Shores Jardine LLP are pleased to be a part of the 2008 YWCA Edmonton, Women of Distinction Awards which took place on June 19, 2008. This awards program honours women who have made valuable contributions to our community. Proceeds from this event go to support important YWCA Edmonton programs like - Lakeside Haven: Where families can learn to be families again after surviving domestic violence. We announce the departure of Louis Belzil from Shores Belzil Jardine LLP. Louis has moved to Bennett Jones LLP to pursue his legal career. Louis was there at the beginning. He helped invision and grow this firm. It is with respect and fondness that we wish him well in his future career. Effective May 1, 2008, our firm will be called Shores Jardine LLP. We would like to thank Shores, Belzil & Jardine for its generous donation to the Visions National Health Law Conference held in Banff last month. With your assistance, we were able to bring together a group of outstanding speakers who focussed on our forward looking theme to present a wide range of perspectives on emerging topics in health law including: liablility issues, technologies, research challenges, and health issues.

This event was the fourth National Health Law Conference and was very well attended. We have heard uniformly positive comments from participants and speakers. Indeed, we believe this event will long be remembered for the rich discussions, the oustanding presentations, the rare networking opportunity and the beautiful setting.
