The 81st Annual North-South Doctors` Golf Tournament 2008/07/28
The 81st Annual North-South Doctors` Golf Tournament was held in Red Deer this year, on July 28th. As in previous years, the North-South Tournament donated event proceeds to bursaries for Alberta medical students. This years total is more than $22,000 - nearly double the amount that was raised in 2007. With continued support, the North-South Doctors` Golf Tournament is sure to be a successful fundraiser for medical student bursaries for many years to come. Shores Jardine looks forward to continuing our investment in tomorrows doctors.

We would like to thank Shores, Belzil & Jardine for its generous donation to the Visions National Health Law Conference held in Banff last month. With your assistance, we were able to bring together a group of outstanding speakers who focussed on our forward looking theme to present a wide range of perspectives on emerging topics in health law including: liablility issues, technologies, research challenges, and health issues.
This event was the fourth National Health Law Conference and was very well attended. We have heard uniformly positive comments from participants and speakers. Indeed, we believe this event will long be remembered for the rich discussions, the oustanding presentations, the rare networking opportunity and the beautiful setting.

Sea Cadet of the Year - Courtney Underhill 2007/06/01
May 31, 2007 - Chief Petty Officer Second Class Courtney Underhill was presented with the Navy League Medal of Excellence and Sea Cadet of the Year. The award signifies that she is the top sea cadet in Alberta and will compete with the top sea cadets from each province for the title of top sea cadet in Canada. Courtney is a member of 152 RCSCC Resolute. Her commanding officer is Lt(N) Crystal Norbeck.
Courtney is working at Shores Belzil Jardine LLP this summer. We are very proud of her accomplishment, and extend her our warmest congratulations.
